# **🔍 Overview**

Each OTTO pixel ID is unique and permanently tied to the PRO workspace where it was first generated. If you install a website in one PRO version and then try to add the same website to a different PRO version, you **cannot** reuse or overwrite the existing pixel ID. A brand-new pixel ID will be generated for that second workspace instead.

Understanding this behavior will help you plan your workspace setup and avoid confusion when managing multiple PRO accounts or client projects.

# **🧩 How OTTO Pixel IDs Work**

When you connect a website to OTTO for the first time, Search Atlas generates a unique pixel ID specifically for that website within your current PRO workspace. This pixel ID is the identifier that links your site's data to your workspace.

- **One pixel ID per workspace per website:** Each PRO workspace issues its own pixel ID for a given domain.
- **Pixel IDs are not transferable:** A pixel ID created in Workspace A cannot be moved to, reused in, or overwritten by Workspace B.
- **Workspace isolation:** Data collected under one pixel ID stays within that workspace. It will not carry over if you generate a new pixel ID for the same domain in another workspace.

# **⚠️ What Happens When You Add the Same Website to Another PRO Version**

If you attempt to install a website that already has an OTTO pixel in one PRO workspace into a second PRO workspace, the following will occur:

1. Search Atlas detects the domain as new within the second workspace.
2. A fresh, unique pixel ID is generated for that workspace.
3. You will need to **replace the pixel code on your website** with the new pixel ID if you want the second workspace to collect data.
4. Any historical data tied to the original pixel ID remains in the first workspace and is not accessible from the second.

In short, you cannot overwrite an existing OTTO pixel ID from another workspace. The two pixel IDs will exist independently, and only the one currently installed on your website will collect data.

# **🛠️ Recommended Workaround**

If you need to manage a website under a different PRO version, follow these steps:

1. Go to the left sidebar and select **OTTO SEO**, then open **SEO Automation** (URL: **/seo-automation-v3**) inside the PRO workspace where you want to add the site.
2. Create a new project for the domain in that workspace.
3. Copy the new OTTO pixel ID that is generated for this workspace.
4. Update the pixel code on your website by replacing the old pixel ID with the new one.
5. Verify that the new pixel is firing correctly before removing or archiving the project in the original workspace.

**Important:** Once you switch the pixel on your website to the new ID, the original workspace will stop receiving data for that domain. Make sure you export or note any reports you need from the first workspace before making the switch.

# **📋 Key Rules to Remember**

- OTTO pixel IDs are workspace-specific and cannot be shared or transferred between PRO versions.
- Adding the same domain to multiple workspaces simultaneously is technically possible, but only the pixel ID installed on your website will actively collect data.
- Historical data does not migrate between workspaces when you switch pixel IDs.
- Always update the pixel code on your website after switching workspaces to ensure accurate data collection.
