After you connect your Cloudflare API token to OTTO, the platform begins a background audit of your website. This audit is required before OTTO can be detected and activated. **It is completely normal for OTTO to show as 'not found' for up to 24 hours after your token is connected.** No action is needed during this time.

# **🗺️ How to Access OTTO**

To reach the OTTO dashboard, navigate to **OTTO SEO** in the left sidebar of the platform and open **SEO Automation** inside it. Your OTTO status and connected sites are managed from this section.

# **⚙️ What Happens After You Connect Your Cloudflare Token**

Connecting your Cloudflare token triggers a multi-step process that runs automatically in the background:

1. **Token validation** — Search Atlas verifies that your Cloudflare API token has the correct permissions.
2. **DNS record discovery** — The platform scans your Cloudflare account to locate all domains associated with the token.
3. **Site audit initiation** — OTTO begins a full technical audit of each discovered domain. This is the most time-intensive step.
4. **OTTO activation** — Once the audit completes, OTTO becomes visible and ready to deploy optimisations on your site.

The entire process typically completes within **24 hours**, though most sites are ready sooner. The exact duration depends on site size, the number of pages crawled, and current platform load.

# **📋 Cloudflare Token Permission Requirements**

Before waiting out the audit period, confirm your token was created with the correct permissions. An incorrectly scoped token will cause the audit to fail silently. Your Cloudflare API token must include:

- **Zone — DNS — Edit**
- **Zone — Zone — Read**
- **Workers Scripts — Edit**
- **Workers Routes — Edit**
- **Workers KV Storage — Edit**

If you are unsure whether your token has these permissions, you can generate a new token in your Cloudflare dashboard under **My Profile → API Tokens → Create Token** and reconnect it inside the OTTO setup flow.

# **✅ How to Check Your OTTO Status**

You can monitor the audit progress at any time:

1. Go to **OTTO SEO** in the left sidebar and open **SEO Automation** inside it.
2. Locate your connected site in the OTTO dashboard.
3. Check the status indicator next to your domain. Statuses you may see include:

   - **Auditing** — The background audit is in progress. No action required.
   - **Not Found** — The audit has not yet started or is still queued. This is expected within the first 24 hours.
   - **Active** — The audit is complete and OTTO is ready to use.

# **🚫 What Not to Do While the Audit Is Running**

To avoid interrupting the audit process, please avoid the following during the 24-hour window:

- Disconnecting and reconnecting the Cloudflare token
- Revoking or modifying the API token permissions in Cloudflare
- Changing your domain's nameservers away from Cloudflare

Repeating the token connection resets the audit timer and extends your wait time.

# **⚠️ When to Take Action**

In most cases, waiting 24 hours resolves the 'not found' status automatically. However, you should take action if:

- More than **24 hours** have passed and OTTO still shows **Not Found** or no status at all
- You received an error message during the token connection step
- Your domain does not appear in the OTTO site list at all after 24 hours

In these situations, first confirm your Cloudflare token permissions are correct (see above), then proceed to contact support using the instructions below.
