# **🧭 Overview**

OTTO can manage your local SEO tasks directly through your Google Business Profile (GBP). This article explains how to connect a GBP to OTTO, how to add a new GBP email address during the connection flow, and how to add additional GBP emails after the initial setup.

# **⚙️ Step 1: Open OTTO Settings**

1. In the left sidebar, click **OTTO SEO**, then open **SEO Automation**.
2. From the Home page, click the **Create OTTO Project** button in the per-project actions menu, or open the existing OTTO session.
3. Inside the OTTO dashboard, go to **Settings → Integrations** (in your global account Settings, not inside OTTO SEO).

# **📌 Step 2: Connect an Existing GBP Email**

If your GBP email address has already been added to your Search Atlas account, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to **Local → GBP Projects** (GBP Projects).
2. Click the **Connect GBP Account** button.
3. A Google authentication window will appear. Sign in with the Google account that manages your GBP.
4. Grant the requested permissions and click **Allow**.
5. Once authenticated, select the correct Business Profile from the list and confirm.

OTTO will now be linked to that GBP and can begin pushing local SEO recommendations.

# **➕ Step 3: Add a New GBP Email That Hasn't Been Registered Yet**

If the Google account you want to use has **not** been added to Search Atlas before, you need to register it first. You can do this directly inside the connection flow:

1. Navigate to **Local → GBP Projects** (GBP Projects) and click the **Connect GBP Account** button.
2. When the Google authentication window opens, sign in with the **new** Google account — the one that hasn't been added yet.
3. Grant the requested permissions and click **Allow**.
4. Search Atlas will automatically register that Google account and display the Business Profiles associated with it.
5. Select the correct Business Profile and confirm the connection.

There is no separate pre-registration step required. Signing in through the Google authentication window is sufficient to add and connect a new email in one flow.

# **🔄 Step 4: Add an Additional GBP Email After Initial Setup**

If OTTO is already connected to one GBP and you want to connect a different Google account or an additional location, follow these steps:

1. Go to **OTTO SEO** in the left sidebar, open **SEO Automation**, and open the relevant OTTO session.
2. Navigate to **Settings → Integrations** (in your global account Settings, not inside OTTO SEO).
3. Click **Connect** or **Add Account** next to the Google Business Profile card.
4. Sign in with the additional Google account when the authentication window appears.
5. Grant permissions, then select the Business Profile you want to link to this OTTO session.

Each OTTO session is tied to a single website project. If you manage multiple locations, make sure you are inside the correct project before connecting a new GBP.

# **⚠️ Troubleshooting: Email Domain Not Verified in Google Business Profile**

If the Google account you are trying to connect is not verified within Google Business Profile itself, the connection may fail or return no Business Profiles. Here is how to resolve this:

- **Verify your Business Profile in Google:** Go to [business.google.com](https://business.google.com), sign in with the affected account, and complete any pending verification steps (postcard, phone, or video).
- **Check account permissions:** Make sure the Google account you are signing in with has **Owner** or **Manager** access to the Business Profile. Profiles where you only have limited access may not appear in the list.
- **Try disconnecting and reconnecting:** If you previously connected the wrong account, disconnect it first inside **Integrations**, then reconnect using the correct Google account.
- **Clear browser cookies or use an incognito window:** Cached Google sessions can cause the wrong account to authenticate. An incognito window ensures you sign in fresh.
- **Allow a few minutes after verification:** Google can take a short time to propagate verification status. If your profile was just verified, wait five minutes and then retry the connection inside OTTO.

# **📍 Accessing Your GBP Content in Search Atlas**

Once your GBP is connected to OTTO, you can also manage your local presence directly through the **GBP Projects** section. In the left sidebar, click **Local** to access sub-pages including **Overview**, **Posts**, **Reviews**, **Media Library**, **My Tasks**, and **Local Citations** — all linked to your connected Business Profile.
