🕵️‍♂️ How to Find the CID Number for a Google Business Profile

Learn 3 ways to retrieve your GBP's unique identifier to track performance and enable features like OTTO.

Updated over a week ago

Each Google Business Profile (GBP) has a CID number — a unique ID used by Google to reference your listing. You'll need this number to enable certain automations, support actions, and advanced SEO insights across Search Atlas.

Below are three ways to find it, including a fallback method for Service Area Businesses (SABs).

1. 🗺️ Find the CID Number Using Google Maps

1️⃣ Go to Google Maps and search for your business name.
2️⃣ Click the correct listing to select it.
3️⃣ In the address bar, replace https:// with view-source: and press Enter.
4️⃣ Once the raw source code appears, hit CTRL+F (or CMD+F) and search for:

ludocid

5️⃣ Find the string that looks like:

ludocid\\u003d18208190227674681406#lrd

🔎 The number after ludocid\\u003d and before #lrd is your CID:
Example CID: 18208190227674681406

2. 🛠️ Find the CID Number for Service Area Business Listings

The method above doesn’t always work for SABs. Instead:

1️⃣ Find your business in Google Maps and select the listing.
2️⃣ Look at the long URL in the address bar. You’ll see two strings starting with 0x.
3️⃣ The second one contains your CID in hexadecimal format.
4️⃣ Copy the string after 0x, for example: e060d065957c4103

5️⃣ Use a Hexadecimal to Decimal converter (like this one).
6️⃣ The output will be your decimal CID number.

3. ⚡ Use a CID Converter Tool

If the manual methods don’t work, use a dedicated CID converter:

  • Paste the full Google Maps URL or 0x... string

  • Use trusted tools to decode the CID automatically

Whether you're activating OTTO, auditing a client's listing, or troubleshooting SEO visibility — your CID number is the key that unlocks your Google Business Profile's full potential.

By learning how to locate it (whether from Maps source code, hexadecimal extraction, or using a converter), you're gaining control over a critical identifier that connects your GBP to the rest of your local SEO infrastructure.

Now that you've found your CID, you're ready to plug it into Search Atlas, enable automation, and start optimizing smarter — with confidence and precision.
